Introducing: Your Dream Instrument from Fender

Fender Custom Shop 1951 Telecaster Super Heavy Relic ANBL 1

We know what it means to find the instrument of your dreams. And we also know that first impressions matter. That’s why all instruments are carefully checked and perfectly tuned before shipping. Including this beautiful piece here.

Every info for your decision

After Fender had to remove the name Broadcaster from its electric guitars in 1951 following a complaint, a new name was sought for the successor to the Esquire. The idea for the new name Telecaster came from Don Randall, the creative mind behind almost all Fender model names. In view of the burgeoning television age, the name seemed appropriate, as Leo Fender's former shop was the first in the area to offer televisions.
The name Telecaster appeared on the headstock of the T-style guitar from 1951 onwards, and so Fender's first solidbody electric guitar was finally given a permanent name for which it is still known today. Fender's production methods made it possible to manufacture the instruments simply and with consistent quality, but also with a different sound. The clear, long decaying sounds of the Telecaster clearly set it apart from the fat Gibson style jazz sound. The Fender Custom Shop has set itself the task of studying these high-quality vintage guitars and reproducing them down to the smallest detail. Here we have a very special Custom Shop one-off for you, modelled on a Tele from the early 50s:

The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Telecaster Super Heavy Relic ANBL is a classic T-style electric guitar with a two-piece ash body. Ash wood was already used in the original Telecaster guitars and provides the basis for the perfect vintage sound. The body wood was selected by hand to ensure a particularly light weight and thus improve playing comfort. The aged riftsawn maple neck with maple fingerboard has a 1950 Blackguard shape in the style of the Nocaster models of the early 1950s and a compound fingerboard radius of 7.25" - 9.5", which offers the perfect compromise between vintage feel and modern comfort and makes it easier for the left hand to grip. The guitar is equipped with a classic S-S pickup combination of two Fender Custom Shop Hand-Wound ‘50-’51 Blackguard single coils. Other features include Fender vintage style tuners, dome speed knobs in an aged nickel finish and a single-ply, black 5-hole pickguard.

The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Telecaster Super Heavy Relic ANBL is finished in a classic Aged Nocaster Blonde. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish ensures that the wood can vibrate particularly well and that the lacquer finish ages more beautifully. The most extreme of Fender's Relic levels, Super Heavy Relic evokes the spirit of the most tried and worn Fender instruments in history. If you want a guitar that looks like it hasn't left your side since the dawn of rock ‘n’ roll, this is the finish for you.

This exquisite one-off comes with a certificate of authenticity in a luxurious original Fender Custom Shop case with tweed cover and burgundy lining, allowing you to transport your new dream guitar safely and protect it from external influences.
